And unlike in the US, not every eating establishment is called a "restaurant". While you probably know what awaits you at a pizzeria (pizza) do you know the difference between a trattoria and a ristorante? Or that to order a coffee or cappuccino you need to go to a bar? (Yes I know it sounds bad, but an Italian bar is really just a coffee house).
